Rücktitelbild: On‐Surface Synthesis of Silole and Disila‐Cyclooctene Derivatives (Angew. Chem. 18/2024)

Silole (C4Si ring) and disila‐cyclooctene (C6Si2 ring) derivatives were synthesized through reactions between silicon atoms and dibrominated molecules at the bay and peri positions on Au(111), as reported by Kewei Sun, Adam S. Foster, Shigeki Kawai et al. (e202401027). This study demonstrates the ro...

Description
Summary:Silole (C4Si ring) and disila‐cyclooctene (C6Si2 ring) derivatives were synthesized through reactions between silicon atoms and dibrominated molecules at the bay and peri positions on Au(111), as reported by Kewei Sun, Adam S. Foster, Shigeki Kawai et al. (e202401027). This study demonstrates the robustness of a synthetic approach in obtaining various low‐dimensional Si‐incorporated nanostructures by direct on‐surface coupling.
