Summary:This article presents the results of a study of the causes of destruction of the diffuser fastening pins of the supercharger of a gas pumping apparatus. The equipment was stopped for unscheduled repairs due to increased gas contamination in the supercharger compartment. A fractographic analysis of the fracture surfaces and a metallographic analysis of the metal of the pins were performed. It was established that the cause of the breakage was a violation of the installation technology, the use of pins of different types and the defect of one of the pins. Analysis of the causes of destruction is necessary to improve reliability and eliminate similar violations in the future.
