description Pheidole are known as the most abundant and cosmpolitan ant genera in Myrmicinae subfamily. Several studies of ant on this genus were conducted over a four-year period in anthropogenic and non-anthropogenic area in West Sumatra to determine the various kinds of species. This study were conducted on September 2019-August 2021 at Sago Malintang Natural Reserve, West Sumatra used standardized Quadra Protocol method which divided based on several altitudes. A total 259 of individual of ants were collected belonged to eight species from genus Pheidole. About three types of ants from genus Pheidole were identified as Pheidole clypeocornis, Pheidole lokitae, and Pheidole quinata. These species were found at the three different altitudes that only noted in this area. A comparison data on each species of were required towards to the earlier study in West Sumatra, in order to observe the presence of ant distributions in West Sumatra. The comparison data was denoted as the data inventories of ant species particularly on genus Pheidole in West Sumatra. This study also reached the number of Pheidole as the most increase number of species between previous study sites.
