Summary: | The loading and unloading procedures play a pivotal role in the operational workflow of a port. The effectiveness of these processes significantly influences the cost efficiency of ship operations. So that human resources are needed who are able to apply the design of the integrated process of transporting goods at the port through the integration of a series of activities which include transportation management activities, warehousing, cargo, consolidation, customs, loading and unloading, insurance, handling dangerous cargo and special cargo by utilizing science and technology in solving procedural problems in an integrated, effective and efficient manner. So far, the students of the Bachelor of Applied Management Study Program Port and Maritime Logistics, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Jakarta traditionally explore loading and unloading procedures through rudimentary mockups within the Transportation and Logistics laboratory. This method has led to a knowledge gap among students during their Field Work Practice. Consequently, there arises a necessity for a learning medium that provides students with a comprehensive understanding and a vivid portrayal of loading and unloading activities at the port. One viable solution involves the creation of a simulation model utilizing virtual reality as an educational tool, facilitating a case-based learning approach. |
