Description
Summary:This study aims to determine the difference in the strength of SS316L metal with the Rockwell hardness testing tool after going through the welding process and Post Weld Heat Treatment. This study also determines the difference in the hardness of SS316L metal after the welding process and Post Heat Treatment. This experiment was carried out with several stages of testing. The tested material is a plate-shaped SS316L, and natural cooling is carried out to average temperatures. After cooling is complete, Rockwell hardness testing is carried out with three testing methods: HAZ, Welding, and Main Metal, at each temperature variation. And it obtained different hardness values from each test method and temperature variations of 300 ° C, 400 ° C, and 500 ° C. The structure of low-carbon steel is dominated by ferrite and a little pearlite. The addition of alloying elements is usually carried out in low-carbon steel welding. The addition of this element can increase the strength of the steel without reducing its elasticity. Low-carbon steel plates can be welded by any means of welding, and the results will be good if the preparation is perfect and the requirements are met.
