Summary:This paper deals with distinct problems of a woman faced in the social hierarchical order. This paper finds the significance of the title “The Inheritance of Loss”. The main focus of this paper is to see how a deserted woman is degraded by the husband and predicament status of a widow in the society. It also discusses the elements of terrorism and political issues and a subaltern treated by the judge. This paper discuses on various post-colonial issues like the issues of poverty and subalternity. This paper also discloses people’s longing and losses which are essential part of loss. This paper focuses the ordinary life of poor people in the text.
