Summary: | In this study, a novel anti‐aliasing image reconstruction approach for foveated transmission in VR/AR headset microdisplays is presented. It efficiently reduces transmission bandwidth by varying downsampling ratios across different image zones at the transmitter, and uses corresponding upscaling ratios at the receiver. Unique scaling‐ratios and slope parameters per position dynamically adjust the bilateral filter and bicubic interpolation in the optical coordinate system for enhancing detail preservation and minimizing aliasing artifacts. Image quality is assessed using MSSSIM, backed by experimental results. |
