Description
Summary:The Austrian Media Corpus (AMC) is a text corpus whose content can be described as "journalistic prose." The corpus is the result of a cooperation between the Austria Press Agency (APA) and the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). With a current size of 12 billion tokens, it is one of the more extensive text corpora in the German language. What makes the corpus so unique, however, is the fact that it contains almost the entire print media production of a country over a period of almost three decades. The AMC was initiated in 2013, but originally access to the corpus was technically and legally only possible within the ÖAW. In 2021, access to the corpus was liberalized for use in linguistic research and teaching.
