Description
Summary:Arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) is one of the primary devices of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology with comprehensive advantages of stable performance, high resolution, and a large number of channels. In this work, we demonstrated a low-loss AWG with 100 output channels and a channel spacing of 50 pm based on a z-cut thin-film lithium niobate platform. The length increment of adjacent arrayed waveguides and the etching depth have been optimized to reduce random phase errors. As far as we know, the demonstrated AWG has the largest number of output channels and the smallest channel spacing on the thin-film LiNbO 3 platform.
