Evaluation of Antimicrobial and Analgesic Activity of Sodium Salts of 1-Aryl-4,4,4-trifluorobutane-1,3-diones

The antibacterial, antifungal, and analgesic activities of compounds of several sodium salts of 1-aryl-4,4,4-trifluorobutane-1,3-diones have been studied. These compounds have been found to exhibit a pronounced effect on Candida albicans (minimum inhibitory concentration, 7.8–62.5 μg/mL). The studie...

Description
Summary:The antibacterial, antifungal, and analgesic activities of compounds of several sodium salts of 1-aryl-4,4,4-trifluorobutane-1,3-diones have been studied. These compounds have been found to exhibit a pronounced effect on Candida albicans (minimum inhibitory concentration, 7.8–62.5 μg/mL). The studied compounds showed significant antibacterial activity against cultures of Staphylococcus aureus (minimum inhibitory concentration, 2.0–31.2 μg/mL) and Escherichia coli (minimum inhibitory concentration 7.8–250.0 μg/mL). In addition, all compounds have pronounced analgesic activity, which exceeds that of the reference drug (metamizole sodium).
