Summary: | The use of fuel engines and the availability of fuel itself become an issue that never runs out to be discussed in vehicle technology development. This study is conducted to adjust the characteristics of the K0J engine by using an injection duration manipulator to reduce fuel consumption, as well as searching for the most optimal setting that will be recommended in the Garuda UNY Team Urban Gasoline vehicle. This testing process was conducted at Gedung IDB FT UNY, which was initiated by conducting a needs analysis, then the preparation of tools and materials, and the manufacture of setting variables. Furthermore, the testing process is carried out with four test variables, and each variable is tested three times. There are two testing groups, the first is testing the vehicle’s performance to find out torque and power, the second is the measurement of fuel consumption at maximum torque and maximum power, then continued with the data processing process, and the last is the conclusion. The study’s results suggest that the recommended settings are two options, the first for straight roads can use the fourth configuration. When the road has an incline, the third configuration can be applied with higher performance according to the needs of the road. |
