Description
Summary:In today’s modern industrial, The companies have to excel in the various fronts, including cost, design, functionality, manufacturing and quality. The advanced planning of deciding which manufacturing projects to pursue and which ones to avoid is crucial to the success of any manufacturing company. Cost analyses are beneficial as they make all manufacturing projects in the easiest terms: benefits, minus all costs, equals net profit. This research used to analyze the manufacturing cost of the FG-19 steering system and how its cost contribution from the costs of material and manufacturing process on the steering system to the total cost report of the FG-19 vehicle. To process data on material prices and manufacturing process components of the FG-19 steering system, applied a quantitative descriptive analysis method. The research was conducted by collecting material data and the production process from the FG-19 Cost Report, then calculating the costs on the steering system utilize Form Cost Analysis (FCA). Furthermore, the calculation of the contribution of material costs and the steering system manufacturing process to the total cost of the FG-19 Cost Report is carried out. The obtained results show that the contribution of the steering material costs to the total cost of the FG-19 Cost Report is 1.1% and the contribution of the steering manufacturing process costs to the total cost of the FG-19 Cost Report is 2.2%. The choice of material utilize steel instead of aluminum will reduce the Cost Report total cost, but increase the vehicle weight. Component manufacturing process selection utilizes Waterjet Cut could reduce the total cost of the Cost Report.
