Summary: | It is significant to reduce power consumption and thickness of foldable display with larger size. Color filter on Encapsulation (COE), as one of the most critical technologies, has excellent performance in terms of power consumption and thinning. COE refers to the technical proposal replacing polarizer with color filter on the surface of encapsulation(COE). However, we have encountered two problems of reduced mechanical strength in the mass production. One of the problems is panel peeling in module process, and the other one is cracking during drop test. This paper has studied the root cause of COE panel strength reduction from panel design, process and material. As a result we achieved the same mechanical strength as polarizer panel. |
