Summary:Herbalplants were used for various diseases for thousands of years by traditional medical practitioners. This work mainly focuses on Siddha herbal plants used in the treatment of diabetes and they have demonstrated anti-diabetic properties, including as increased insulin sensitivity and hypoglycemic effects. One of the most prevalent non-communicable illnesses in the world is diabetes mellitus. A parallel terminology of Madhumegam in Siddha. Siddha literature mentioned the used of plants in the treatment of various ailments. There are few comprehensive investigations on the Siddha medicinal herbs that treat diabetes mellitus. The minimal number of human clinical studies using herbal plants to treat diabetes mellitus that have been reported is shown in this study.In the list of herbal plants are proven antidiabetic and pharmacological effect has compliedInthis review, it is proved that there are many herbs have potent anti-diabetic activity. Searches were conducted across a variety of databases, including Web of Science, Google Scholar, Medline, Scopus, and PubMed, for publications on herbal plants with anti-diabetic properties.
