Description
Summary:This study focuses on comparing the performance of pertalite, boosted pertalite and pertamax. Two types of fuel boosters that are famous in the Indonesian market were selected. These boosters were identified as booster X and booster Y. This research was initiated by mixing the fuel booster in pertalite, according to the manufacturer's recommended dosage. Furthermore, the value of viscosity, density, octane number, torque and power were tested for pertalite, boosted pertalite, and pertamax. In addition, the FTIR was also carried out on the three samples, to confirm the effect of the fuel booster on the existing functional groups. The results showed an increase in the performance of boosted pertalite, but not beyond the performance of Pertamax. The power produced by pure pertalite is 7.54 HP while pertamax (4.77%) and booted pertalite (3.38%) is higher than pure petalite. Pure pertalite torque 9.12 NM, pertamax 5.48%, boosted pertalite 4.71% higher than the original pertalite. Pertalite has an octane number of 89.8, while Pertamax is 2.45%, and boosted pertalite is 1.17% higher than pure pertalite. The viscosity value of pure pertalite is 0.630 Cp, Pertamax 8.10%, boosted pertalite is 6.75% lower than the original fuel. The density of pertalite is 0.740 g/ml, pertamax is 1.62%, and the boosted pertalite is 0.54% lower than pure pertalite. The results of the FTIR test show increasing electron mobility in the boosted pertalite compared to the original pertalite.
