Description
Summary:The results of a study microstructure of polycrystalline zinc specimens under by short pulses of the high-energy electromagnetic field treatment on them are presented. The aim is to study the possibility of healing micropores and microcracks inside the material during such treatment. The equipment used and the experimental technique are described, the analysis of the experimental data obtained is carried out. Metallographic studies of the zinc microstructure before and after HEEMF treatment confirm the assumption that in the process of such treatment, the decrease in its porosity may occur in the metal and, as a consequence, a significant increase in the ultimate plastic strain before fracture. Investigations of the polycrystalline structure of the metal have shown that the decrease in porosity is not the result of recrystallization.
