Description
Summary:More patients are in the AC12 group because the other two regimens were not implemented during the first seven years of the study period. The results were as follows: * Six relapses were recorded in the entire cohort: five (29.4%) under the AC24 regimen and one (10.0%) under the AC-joined regimen. * The number of cured cases were 30 (93.3%), 16 (94.1%), and eight (80.0%) in the AC12, AC24 and AC-joined groups, respectively. * Unplanned readmission of patients was recorded in eight (25.0%), six (35.3%), and two (20.0%) cases in the AC12, AC24 and AC-joined groups, respectively. * A total of six relapses occurred: five (29.4%) patients under the AC24 regimen and one (10.0%) patient under the AC-joined regimen, while the AC12 group recorded none. * Five deaths were recorded, of which two were unrelated to the IE, one was in the AC12 group, and two were in the AC-joined group. * Side effects pertaining to the AC treatment were found in seven patients: six (85.0%) from the AC12 group and one (15.0%) from the AC-joined group (p = 0.152). [...]the outcome of outpatient parenteral antibiotic treatment (OPAT) of infective endocarditis with Enterococcus faecalis heavily relies on optimizing drug combination delivery.
