Summary: | 3D Models of architectural structures are essential for studying and analyzing the condition of these structures, as well as rehabilitating and documenting them. Photogrammetry and laser scanning techniques are being used to create three-dimensional modelers, these methods are costly and time-consuming. Thus, the goal of this research is to develop a new low-cost videogrammetric system to produce 3D models of university buildings based on video measuring technology. To build a point cloud, this approach uses sequences of video frames that are processed using the Agisoft PhotoScan application. Six primary processes are applied in this study; these processes are camera calibration, video recording, point cloud extraction, 3D modeling, 3D model representation, and accuracy assessment of the derived 3D models. In this research, a three-dimensional model was created with acceptable accuracy (RMSE within ±3.902 mm) as compared to previous methods. In conclusion, the new system provides an economic, fast, efficient, and precise technique that can be used to produce 3D models of architectural structures. |
