Summary: | The simplification of the agricultural landscape affects trophic interactions, impacting on biological pest control. On a field scale, this ecological service can be affected by the presence of natural enemies in the landscape, which move between patches in search of resources spread over time and space. We evaluated the influence of the landscape structure surrounding soybean fields, as well as the distance between native Cerrado vegetation and soybean fields, on stink bugs abundance and parasitism rates within agricultural landscapes considering three spatial scales (1000, 2000 and 3000 m diameter). The landscape components evaluated were soybean, monoculture (corn, beans, sorghum, reforestation and pasture) and native vegetation. Adults stink bugs were positively influenced by the landscape structure on scales of 2000–3000 m. The proportion of parasitism was positively influenced by the interaction of soybean-monoculture and native vegetation-monoculture components on the 1000 m scale. There was no effect of distance from native vegetation on stink bugs and parasitism. Our observations show that landscape structure influenced parasitism and stink bugs at different spatial scales. Possible effects of landscape structure on stink bugs and parasitoids are discussed. |
