Description
Summary:AbstractStudy Design:The design of the study was a retrospective case series. Objective:This study evaluated the clinical and radiological manifestations of synovial chondromatosis (SC) of the hip, along with the role of hip arthroscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of this pathologic condition and its postoperative curative effect.Patients and Methods:With a minimum 1-year follow-up, 13 hips with SC received arthroscopic surgery. Preoperatively and postoperatively, patients were assessed for hip pain using the modified Harris Hip Score and Nonarthritic Hip Score. Results:Considerable reduction in postoperative hip pain was observed in all cases, along with sufficient improvement in hip range of motion. Conclusion:Hip arthroscopy is a trusted and adequate treatment option for hip SC.
