Description
Summary:Methods: The women’s knee health CAG was established (aim 1) grounded in a participatory action research approach using the Patient Engagement in Research Framework to inform a four-phase process: 1) Understand, 2) Plan, 3) Undertake, and 4) Evaluate. Thematic analysis identified 14 codes grouped into three themes, highlighting what women want to know about serious knee injury, including (1): Best practice management and support for ACL injury/rehabilitation, (2): Social/gendered factors, (3): Physical, psychological, and personal factors. The CAG’s three highest-ranked priorities for future research were (1): Knowledge of and access to specialised knee rehabilitation and practitioners (code 14, theme 1); (2): Understand the role of physical activity and load on knee health (code 4, theme 3); and (3): Informed decision-making regarding treatment options after knee injury (Code 8, theme 1).
