Summary: | A new single-input dual-output dc-dc converter based on classical buck and buck/boost structures is proposed in this article. The proposed converter does not have right-half-plane zero in its control-to-output transfer function with the introduced new switching states. Therefore, both circuit outputs have a fast dynamic response against the variation in the duty cycles. An additional degree of freedom in the form of a freewheeling interval allows the output voltages to be adjusted independently, which decreases the cross-regulation effect. In addition, the voltage stress across the power switches in this topology is lower than the similar topologies. Also, the dead time is not required in different switching states, which improves the converter's reliability and performance. The converter performance is validated using both simulation and experimental results. The results clearly confirm the fast dynamic performance of the suggested structure. |
