Summary:The character of generation Z in implementing social media has changed, especially the lack of morals, morals and attitudes that started as the millennial generation. This study aims to explain the results of the analysis of generation z characters using social media applications on the internet. This research method uses qualitative research. Then the approach used is descriptive analysis and survey approach. Data collection techniques and procedures were carried out systematically through observation and document analysis stages. The method for collecting research data requires initial observation related to the need for research data in the form of primary and secondary data. Data analysis used interactive model analysis in the form of data collection, data identification, data reduction, and conclusion. The results of the study show that the characteristics of generation Z in using social media applications on the internet are driven by various behaviors and attitudes that are very high in seeking popularity and creating exciting content to produce or social engineering with technology, especially in utilizing Smartphone, social media platforms, so that they can make someone primarily the Z generation elaborates their personality according to their abilities in facing the challenges of life in this industrial 4.0 era to become famous and helpful people.
