Description
Summary:The aim of this study was to analyze the temporal trend in the workforce density of Physical Education Professionals in the three levels of healthcare in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) from 2008 to 2022. An ecological time series study was conducted using data from January 2008 to December 2022 from the National Health Establishment Registry. The sample consisted of Physical Education Professionals providingservices within SUS. Segmented linear regression analysis was performed using the Joinpoint Regression Program software. It was identified that the density of Physical Education Professionals in the three levels of healthcare increased from 2008 to 2022, with the largest increase observed in Primary Healthcare (13.8%). It was also noted that SUS relies on the workforce of Physical Education Professionals, although with low density across the three levels of healthcare.
