Summary:This review was requested by the Department of Health to inform the development of policy and regulation on vapes in Northern Ireland. The proportion of children vaping at least once a week doubled from 3% in 2016 to 6% in 2022. The aim of this review was to provide evidence on the health effects of vaping in children and adolescents. To meet policy cycle timelines, a rapid review of systematic reviews published in the last ten years was conducted. The Population Exposure Comparator Outcome (PECO) framework was used to formulate the research question: To examine the health effects (outcomes) of vaping (exposure) in those aged 88%) and the two systematic reviews that contained meta-analyses investigating respiratory outcomes (>72%).
