Summary: | One high-quality variety of animal feed is called Indigofera zollingeriana. need to be developed to support feed availability. Currently, its development is hampered by limited land; one solution is the use of saline land. However, it is constrained by the availability of seeds that can grow and adapt well to saline land. This study aims to evaluate the production and morphology of mutant 2 (M2) I. zollingeriana seeds resulting from gamma-ray irradiation on saline soil. The research was carried out in a randomized block design (RBD) with four treatments of the M2 I. zollingeriana genotype resulting from gamma ray irradiation, consisting of 0, 100, 200, and 300 gray and six replications. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, and if there were significant differences, they were analyzed further using the Duncuns multiple range test (DMRT) in SPSS V.25. The study findings indicated that the maximum pod weight, quantity of pods on a tree, and seed production were found in the 300 Gy treatment (22.30 g/tree). It can be concluded that the M2 generation seeds of I. zollingeriana with an irradiation treatment of 300 Gy can be recommended as a seed source for development in saline soil. |
