Summary:A laboratory system designed to assess the microwave-screening properties of materials is tested. Concrete samples with photocatalytic coatings of the following types are employed: Degussa P-25 industrial photocatalyst in a cement–sandstone mixture; a TiO 2 –SiO 2 photocatalytic composite synthesized by a sol–gel method in a cement–sand mixture; and PTN8-VT1.0 titanium powder applied by detonation spraying to the sample surface and the resulting Ti–TiO x coating.
