Summary: | This article addresses critical points which may arise in the implementation of the classical method of Infant Observation. These touch on ethical issues concerning the child being observed, the parents and the training candidates in psychoanalytic training and, additionally, the author questions some of the theoretical maxims of Infant Observation.
