Summary: | For the past 26 years, the Sundance Film Festival (SFF), held annually in Park City, Utah, has showcased the best examples of what filmmakers with a conscience can do. Valenti discusses the importance of environmentally themed films in environmental conservation efforts, however he contends that the the films' messages are not new, perhaps some heard for the first time by younger generations but certainly not enough. Further, filmmakers and researchers should take up the task of measuring not only awareness and attitude change, but to try to document actual behaviors, the acting on awareness and attitudes in relation to environmental issues tackled in the documentary. |
