Summary: | Attempts to establish a satisfactory rating of flying ability for measuring aptitude for the Air Service. Ten tests were selected and given to 50 very good flyers, 50 very poor flyers and 50 unknowns. The best tests found were emotional stability, especially hand response, perception of tilt and mental alertness. A provisional scoring and weighting scheme was worked out. The tests successfully predicted and differentiated between good and poor performance. The test has been adopted by the personnel section of the Air Service. |
