Summary: | Leadership concepts and models are evolving more rapidly, to a large extent to accommodate rapidly changing environments. The design and implementation of shared, adaptive, flexible, and compassionate models for leadership structure within organizational systems are essential. This article is an attempt to continue a dialogue about evolving leadership concepts from the perspective of consulting psychology. Several fundamental dimensions are identified that provide a basis for comparing leadership models and further provide some description of recent thinking about leadership in organizations. Six additional critical dimensions to consider in designing leadership systems are discussed. |
