Summary: | Researchers evaluated the effect of forests (of various age and the composition of the standing forest) on the concentrations of chemical components in the background areas and those impacted by atmospheric pollution from the Syktyvkar Paper Mill (SPM). Data found the concentrations of most components analyzed in the snow cover of forests in the polluted territories (except the concentrations of N P and Fe) are higher than in the background area. |
