Summary:A multicriteria methodology for assessing the functional performance of urban Sewer Systems (SS) is presented. It passes through the quantification of the selected indicators and defined according to the objective and the available data and is based on a multicriteria aggregation. The global performance of the system was evaluated - on a real case - by using AHP method. And in order to find a reliable method to be automated, an other method of performance indicators weighting, based on the gross value of the indicator, was used. In addition to specific results obtained for the studied case, the study shows the interest of completing the missing information by using specific ratios, the limits of the AHP method in the overall analysis of the performance based on weighting of performance indicators, and finally, the interest of automatic calculation of the weighted average of PI on the basis of their gross values.
