Summary: | With an increased number of culturally linguistically diverse (CLD) families and their children with disabilities served in special education, the collaboration between special professionals and CLD families becomes an important task. The purpose of this study is twofold: to review the barriers existing in involving CLD families in IEP/IFSP design, and to discuss actions that should be taken in order to conquer these barriers, thereby increasing the CLD families' involvement in the IFSP/IEP process and improving the quality of services provided to children with disabilities from CLD families.
