Summary: | Theoretical and philosophically, Islamic psychology has developed along with the Islamization of knowledge. However, it is still unacceptable by large as a discipline. Its acceptance or rejection needs a special paradigm and epistemology towards conceptualization and assessment (psychometric). Historically, the field of psychology has only been accepted as a knowledge based on quantitative assessment verification as pioneered by Wilhelm Wundt and his structuralism. Therefore, this study tried to offer the concept of epistemology assessment in Islamic Psychology through the transformation of ideology, culture and social based on the Quranic and Hadiths to build the constructs and indicators of each assessment that is combined according to the present psychometric method. The mental-cognitive concept as an Islamic thinking style has been developed with the approach offering epistemology. This assessment was administered on 472 at risk adolescence at correctional centres in Terengganu, Kelantan, Melaka and Perak, Malaysia. In this survey research, questionaires were administered. The findings showed that the mental-cognitive level was low. Survey was conducted in this study. This study runing up at April 2009. On the other hand, it showed strong reliability and validiity index. It is hopeful that the findings of this study can contribute to the further development of Islamic assessment tools and psychology intervention modules for at-risk adolescence.
