The main requirement is that the foreign arbitration organization be legally established and operating in a foreign country.101 The law allows foreign arbitration organizations to establish either a branch or representative office in Vietnam.102 Branches may conduct actual arbitration activities, including appointing arbitrators and hearing cases. 1M Representative offices cannot conduct arbitrations and are limited to advertising, market surveys, and other promotional activities.104
