Summary: | Two routes to 1,1-dithiolate complexes cis-[Ru(CO)^sub 2^(S^sub 2^X)^sub 2^] [X = NMe^sub 2^, OEt, PPh^sub 2^, P(OEt)^sub 2^] are presented. From the reaction of NH^sub 4^S^sub 2^P(OEt)^sub 2^ with the ruthenium(II) complex generated upon reduction of RuCl^sub 3^.3H^sub 2^O by CO in 2-methoxyethanol, along with the expected mononuclear product, cis-[Ru(CO)^sub 2^{η^sup 2^-S^sub 2^P(OEt)^sub 2^}^sub 2^], binuclear [Ru(CO){η^sup 2^-S^sub 2^P(OEt)^sub 2^} {μ,η^sup 1^,η^sup 2^-S^sub 2^P(OEt)^sub 2^}]^sub 2^ was also produced. The latter has been crystallographically characterized and shows a trans-arrangement of carbonyls and cis-arrangement of terminal and bridging dithiolate ligands.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT] |
