Summary: | In opening this session I will limit myself to defining a little more fully the subject for discussion. The selection of the topic was based on the recognition of the growth in the number and importance of corporations in recent years. Corporations have long been recognized as of widely different characters, ranging from the corporation which represented merely the personal wealth of an individual to organizations such as the American Telephone and Telegraph Company or the United States Steel Corporation. It is with the large public corporation that the present discussion is concerned. |
