Description
Summary:An abstract of a study by Brown et al investigating the association between being diagnosed with high blood cholesterol levels, behavior, and diet as risk factors for colorectal cancer is presented. Results show that those diagnosed with high cholesterol levels were significantly more likely to be overweight or obese, consumed less than five servings of fruits and vegetables per day, and did not participate in any physical activity, therefore potentially increasing their colon cancer risk. These findings suggest that further research is needed to explore the possible causal relationship between cholesterol diagnosis, actual cholesterol levels, colon cancer risk, and its associated health behaviors.
