Summary: | In Tamilnadu, to eradicate women unemployment, attractive schemes have been introduced, like "Self Help Group," hereafter called SHG. The SHG comprises poor, rural women who have volunteered to organize themselves into a group for eradication of poverty among themselves. They resolve to save their money regularly and convert their savings into a Common Fund known as the Group Corpus, to be used through a common management scheme. The SHG has devised a code of conduct to bind itself. This will be in the form of regular meetings (weekly or fortnightly), functioning in a democratic manner, allowing free exchange of views, participation by the members in the decision making process.
