Summary:In its incident investigation report, the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB) noted that most undergraduate chemical engineering curricula do not specifically address the recognition and management of reactive chemical hazards. The CSB recommended that AIChE and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) work together to add reactive hazard awareness to baccalaureate chemical engineering curricula requirements.
