Dosimetric Properties of Magnesium Oxide Crystals
The nominally pure magnesium oxide (MgO) single crystals have been studied as dosimetric material for γ-radiation dose estimation in the range of 101-104 Gy. The employment of thermoluminescence peak at 450 K as the operating one for γ-dosimetry has been discussed. The peak is sensitive to fast neut...

Summary: | The nominally pure magnesium oxide (MgO) single crystals have been studied as dosimetric material for γ-radiation dose estimation in the range of 101-104 Gy. The employment of thermoluminescence peak at 450 K as the operating one for γ-dosimetry has been discussed. The peak is sensitive to fast neutrons as well, and in the mixed radiation fields the total dose (fast neutrons and γ-rays) received by the sample can be monitored by the change of the peak intensity. |
