Summary: | Characteristics of transitions designed for connection of electromagnetic-bandgap (EBG) waveguides situated in different layers of a microwave electromagnetic crystal are analyzed. Two types of transitions (with slot and probe coupling) are considered. Two operating modes of the transition with slot coupling, the propagation mode and the cutoff mode, are studied. It is shown that wider operating band of the device is ensured in the cutoff mode. The possibility of transition from one layer to another with simultaneous power division into two channels is studied. |
