Summary:We report a 24-year-old woman who presented with a nephrotic syndrome as the revealing manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and an associated hypogammaglobulinemia related to a common variable immunodeficiency (CVID). Outcome of SLE was favourable with intravenous immunoglobulin treatment solely. Relationships between SLE and CVID are discussed.
