Description
Summary:The Uda-Vitim fold system (UVFS) comprises the inner areas of the western Transbaikal region extending from the lower reaches of the Selenga River to the Southern Muya Range. In the Vitim River upper reaches, it includes three lithotectonic zones: Eravna, Ikat-Bagdara, and Turka-Kurba. In structural terms, all of them represent a system of tectonic blocks confined to the subsided upper part of the Angara-Vitim batholith that is largely composed of Late Paleozoic granitoids. A remarkable feature of the Uda-Vitim fold system is development of lithology variable Middle and Upper Paleozoic rocks in its section.
