Summary: | Article reviews a new exhibition at the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds called 'Towards a New Laocoon', opening 13 May 2007. The Laocoon is an inspiration to sculptors, and currently resides in the Vatican Collection. The figure group sculpture is made of Parian marble and depicts the Trojan priest Laocoon and his two sons being fatally attacked by snakes sent by the Greek god Neptune. The new exhibition shows work from three contemporary artists. |
