Summary:The articles in the symposium section of this issue of "Science and Society" were originally presented at a conference at the University of Bergamo in Italy called "Reading the Grundrisse", held on 15-18 July 2008. To re-read "Grundrisse" after "Capital" is a worthwhile effort, Bellofiore contends. The reader may find in the earlier work suggestions for unexpected tentative solutions to many problematic points in the mature work. Obscure formulations in the younger work may be enlightened, and thus at the same time revealed as hidden treasures.
