Summary:New technologies compel the scientists to change their thinking about dissemination of their own publications. In the time of rapid information exchange scientific papers should be available to the largest possible audience, it is therefore of vital importance to prepare them properly. The authors present the ways how to optimize the visibility of scientific publications on the Internet by the use of appropriate choice of words in the title, summary and key words. They discuss the mechanisms of indexing in scientific search engines and bibliographic-abstract databases showing at the same time how to use them in drawing up the paper. They also give an example of two summaries of the same article. The first one comprises the elements of academic search engine optimization (ASEO) while the other one does not follow these principles in the article description.
