Summary: | Cyclohexamine (PCE), a drug related to phencyclidine (PCP), has recently appeared on the illicit drug market with no legal restrictions. Two deaths directly related to PCE are described together with its chemical and clinical properties. Specific clinical aspects of PCP ingestion are discussed in consideration of the likelihood that PCE would have similar effects. The need for legislation restricting the use of PCE is demonstrated by the serious and possibly fatal complications resulting from the illicit administration of this drug. |
