Summary: | Bergenholtz and Bothma talks about the status of lexicography and its three different opinions. They also discuss the information needs in the information society and partly using theory of lexicography. Their argument does not imply that the administrative affiliation of all lexicographers at universities must be changed. Some lexicography units could--if they deal mostly with lexicography for communicative needs--stay in language departments. In their opinion, the lexicographer could be seated in an interdisciplinary center that belongs at the same time to the faculty of science, the faculty of social sciences and the faculty of humanities. |
